Instructions for Presentation

MIRU2015 give all researchers an opportunity of discussion as below.

Oral Session

  1. Each presenter will be allocated 12 minutes (10 min talk + 2 min Q&A, 8min talk + no Q&A for invited sessions). Concisely present your work here and use the interactive session for in-depth discussion.
  2. The speech can be either in English or Japanese.
  3. However, the presentation slides must be in English.
  4. Bring a laptop computer for the oral presentation. The projector accepts VGA connection (mini D-sub 15pin) with 4:3 aspect ratio and XGA resolution. Prepare a VGA adapter if your laptop does not have a VGA output (e.g., MacBook).
  5. There is also an mini-stereo cable for audio.
  6. Check-in with the session chair and test your laptop connection to the projecter ahead of the session time.
  7. Excellent presentations will be awarded MIRU Nagao prize, MIRU excellent award, MIRU excellent student award and MIRU frontier award (excluding talks in invited sessions).

Spotlight

  1. Each presenter will have strictly 30 seconds including transition. Spend this short period of time to convey only the gist of your work.
  2. The presentation can be either in English or Japanese.
  3. We ask all of the spotlight presenter to prepare and submit presentation slides using the provided template in advance for the purpose of smooth transitions.
  4. The template pptx file for the spotlight can be downloaded from here.
  5. The spotlight presentation file must be uploaded as an attachement file via EasyChair. The upload deadline is July 14th.

Interactive Time (Poster presentation)

  1. Each poster is assigned an individual poster board in the poster presentation room, and you can present your paper and discuss about it in the designated interactive session time.
  2. The dimension of poster board is H210cm×W90cm.
  3. You can also use table (W90xD45xH75cm) in front of the board.
  4. You must prepare the poster by A0 portrait size (W841x H1189 mm).
  5. Your presentation ID, such as SS9-1, should be appeared at the top corner of the poster.
  6. Scotch tape will be provided for putting up the poster on the site.
  7. WIFI will be provided on the site.
  8. Every poster presentation will be held in the same poster presentation room. The presenters for interactive time 1 should put the poster during 13:00-13:30 in the first day of main conference, July 28th. The presenters for second day, the interactive times 2 and 3, and third day, the interactive times 4 and 5, should put it at the end (namely, during 18:30-19:00) of the previous day in advance. You must take it off at the end of your presentation day by yourself. Note that your interactive time is core time of your presentation and your poster should be posted during the day when you have the designated interactive time.
  9. Excellent presentations will be awarded MIRU interactive poster award.

Interactive Time (Demo presentation)

  1. Each demo is assigned an individual poster board in the demo presentation room, and you can present and discuss your work in the interactive times 1-3, first and second days of main conference.
  2. The dimension of poster board is H210cm×W90cm.
  3. You can also use table (W180xD45xH75cm) in front of the board.
  4. You must prepare the poster by A0 portrait size (W841x H1189 mm).
  5. Your presentation ID, such as DS-10 should be appeared at the top corner of the poster.
  6. Scotch tape will be provided for putting up the poster on the site.
  7. WIFI will be provided on the site.
  8. All of the demos can be presented at the first and second days (July 28th and 29th) of the main conference. You will present the same demo presentation in both days. The demo presentations are split to two groups DS1 and DS2. Core time for DS1 is designated at interactive time 1 and 2 (IT1, IT2), and core time for DS2 is designated at interactive time 2 and 3 (IT2, IT3).
  9. You will have a spotlight presentation in ether of the first or second day. The ID DS1-** is assigned to spotlight session 1 (SS1), and DS2-** is assigned to spotlight session 2 (SS2). You can see your spot light assignment in the conference program.
  10. Information about preparation and carrying the equipment in/out for the demo will be informed by e-mail to each presenter.
  11. Excellent presentations will be awarded MIRU demo award.
