CALL FOR PAPERS

Workshop on Geometric Computation for Computer Vision (GCCV)

On the occasion of the retirement of Professor Kenichi Kanatani from
Okayama University, the workshop on Geometric Computation for Computer
Vision (http://gccv2013.sciencesconf.org) will be held in conjunction
with the 6th Pacific-Rim Symposium on Image and Video Technology (PSIVT
2013<http://www.psivt.org/psivt2013/>)
in Guanajuato, Mexico, on October 29th, 2013.
To honor his contributions to the scientific community, this event will
focus on inferring the parameters of geometric structures within images
or scenes which is one of the key aspects in computer vision. The topics
particularly addressed by this workshop include general optimization of
such problems and accurate parameter estimation in the presence of noisy
data. The workshop intends to bring together researchers from these
fields, encourage new ideas, discussions and theoretical or practical
contributions.

Topics of interest include the following subjects from computer vision,
but are not limited to:
1. geometric modeling of the imaging process and 3D reconstruction
2. inference of parameters of geometric structures in images, videos,
or 3D scenes
3. geometric or statistical methods for segmentation, analysis, and
understanding
4. geometric or statistical theories and computer vision

The workshop is also accompanied by a keynote of Professor Kenichi
Kanatani at the main conference PSIVT 2013. We are happy to have Leo
Dorst as a keynote speaker. A further invited talk will be announced
soon.

Accepted papers will be included in the PSIVT 2013 proceedings of the
workshops published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science
collection.

Paper submission deadline: August 20th, 2013 (June 29th for dual
submission via PSIVT).
Paper acceptance notification: September 20th, 2013.
Camera-ready copy due: September 25th, 2013.
Workshop day: October 29th, 2013.
