術とネットワークサービス」特集への論文投稿のご案内

情報通信技術の進展に伴って，従来人間が行ってきた単純作業の多くが機械化
され，人間にはより知的な活動が期待されるようになってきました．また，近
年の人工知能関連技術の進展により，人間の知的な活動までもが機械化されて
いくのではないかとの憶測も広がっています．しかし，他者と協調し，様々な
環境の変化や制約事項に柔軟に対応しながら意思決定や問題解決を行っていく
人間の知力には計り知れないものがあり，機械の知能化に伴って，よりその能
力への期待が高まってきていると考えることもできます．人間に代わって知的
な活動を行う機械への期待が高まる一方で，人間社会の知的な活動を支え，時
には人間の知力を誘発し，増幅する役割としての情報通信技術への期待も大き
いものがあると考えられます．スマートフォン等の携帯端末やクラウドを活用
したコラボレーションシステムやネットワークサービスは，人間が行っている
種々の知的な活動を支えるようになってきているとともに，今後は，
IoT（Internet of Things）による様々なセンサ情報や，人工知能によるボッ
トやエージェントなどをも取り込んで，社会の知的化を先導するのに必要な中
核技術になっていくことが予想されます．

　このような状況認識に基づき，情報処理学会論文誌において「社会の知的化
を先導するコラボレーション技術とネットワークサービス」特集号を企画しま
す．本特集において時宜を得て迅速に関連する研究論文を一括掲載することに
より，社会に成果を公開し，グループウェアとネットワークサービスに関する
研究の一層の発展に寄与することを目指します．

　本特集号で取り扱う主なトピックは，知識・情報共有，ソーシャルコンピュー
ティング，ユビキタスコンピューティング，センサーネットワーク利用サービ
ス，セキュアなネットワークサービス，医療・福祉のためのネットワークサー
ビス，防災・減災のためのネットワークサービス，分散コラボレーション，教
育・学習支援，コミュニケーション研究の理論・技術・応用・評価・実装・実
践などを含みます．また，これに限定するものではなく，グループウェアとネッ
トワークサービスに関する論文を広く募集します．なお，今回の論文誌ジャー
ナル編集は「ゲストエディタ制度」によって行います．

（1）論文の執筆要領
「情報処理学会論文誌（IPSJ Journal）」原稿執筆案内によります。

Call for Papers

Journal of Information Processing
Special issue on Collaboration technologies and network services
shaping the future intellectual society

       The Editorial Committee of the Journal of Information Processing

Journal of Information Processing (JIP) is pleased to announce the
call for papers in a special issue on Collaboration technologies and
network services shaping the future intellectual society.

Advances in information and communication technologies have
increasingly allowed computing machines to perform tasks traditionally
performed by humans. Most simple tasks can now be completely
automated, but those requiring more intelligent behaviour continue to
pose technological challenges. 　Human intelligence is very
powerful. We collaborate with others to make decisions and to solve
problems, adapting flexibly in difficult situations where restrictions
or situational changes occur. While some people anticipate that human
intelligence might eventually be replaced by machines as AI
progresses, current and emerging technologies can already support our
intelligent activities by augmenting human intelligence rather than
replacing it. Various aspects of these technologies are currently
attracting attention, moving us towards a future “intellectual
society”.

As computers become more intelligent, reducing our problem-solving
workload, humans will have more time to devote to intellectual and
creative activities. In the “intellectual society”, computing machines
will eventually be expected to stimulate and amplify even our most
creative activities.

A core set of technologies are necessary to support both our current
intelligent decision making activities and our future intellectual
society. Among these technologies are collaboration systems, network
services, mobile terminals, and cloud environments. Working together
they will, for example, incorporate data provided by the Internet of
Things to inform the actions of intelligent robots and agents.

For this special issue the editorial committee invites paper
submissions on topics related to collaboration technologies and
network services that lead us towards a future intellectual
society. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to): information
and knowledge sharing, social computing, ubiquitous computing, sensor
network services, secure network services, medical treatment and
social security, network services for disaster prevention and
mitigation, collaboration, education and learning, and communication
theories and technologies. Prof. Hideyuki Takada of Ritsumeikan
University has been invited to act as the guest editor for this issue.
Submission Guidelines

(1) All papers must be submitted electronically. Please access the

(2) All papers will be reviewed.  The review process will be carried
out in the same manner as regular issues.  However, you have shorter
time than usual (two months) for preparation of your responses to
inquiries.

(3) Submission deadline is April 10, 2017.

(4) The special issue will be published on the J-Stage website in
February, 2018. Preprint will be published on the IPSJ Journal in
January, 2018.
