理化学研究所の大浪です。

下記のとおり、理化学研究所では英国University of Dundeeを中心とした国際グループが開発している、テラバイトレベルの顕微鏡画像データの管理と活用のソフトウェアであるOMEROの初歩的なワークショップを開催することになりました。OMEROは欧州を中心に、生命医科学分野の顕微鏡画像データの管理と活用の国際的なデファクトスタンダードになりつつあるソフトウェアです。

バイオイメージインフォマティクス技術の使い方を初歩から学ぼう

OMERO (http://www.openmicroscopy.org) はテラバイト単位の顕微鏡画像を管理することを目的に、Jason Swedlow 教授らのグループにより開発されたソフトウェアプラットフォームです。OMEROは顕微鏡画像を安全に管理しインターネット上で共有/利用できるフリーのソフトウェアプラットフォームです。

この度、その開発者である英国ダンディー大学のJason Swedlow教授と彼のチームにより、OMEROワークショップを神戸で行っていただくこととなりました。このワークショップでは、実際にOMEROを使いながら顕微鏡画像を視覚化して分析する実践的なチュートリアルを体験することができます。

プログラム概要
内容：
	• OMEROの基本的な使い方（プログラミングのスキルは必要ありません）。
	• OMERO APIを用いたアプリケーションを使用した手動データ処理から自動処理ワークフローへの移行方法
	• CellProfiler、ImageJ、RなどのツールとOMEROの連携方法
	• 解析データの作成方法
	• OMEROサーバーの管理方法

顕微鏡検査、スクリプティング、データ解析の知識は必要ありません。
顕微鏡画像を扱う学生や研究者の方はぜひご参加ください。

Omero Open Workshop in Kobe 2018 : Call for Participation

OMERO is a free open source client-server software for managing, visualizing and analyzing microscopy images and associated metadata. OMERO allows scientists to securely store their microscopy images while making those images shareable and available from anywhere via the Internet for yourself and other users sharing your OMERO instance. You can also use OMERO to publish your images to the world if you choose to do so.

We are very glad to have Professor Jason Swedlow and his team from the University of Dundee, UK to come to present at this workshop in Kobe Japan. In this workshop you will be able to learn more about OMERO. You can learn how to use the software to visualise and analyse microscopy images through a hands-on tutorial.

Content of this workshop:

It does not assume any programming skills unless stated otherwise.
	• The basic usage of OMERO.
	• How to transition from manual data processing to automated processing workflows using applications against the OMERO API.
	• How to integrate a variety of processing tools with OMERO such as CellProfiler, ImageJ, R.
(Basic programming skills are advantageous, but you will be able to follow in any case)
	• How to program and generate output ready for publication.
	• We will also demonstrate command line tools available to system administrators to manage an OMERO server. (It does not assume any programming skills but some familiarity with command line interfaces is advantageous.)

No prior knowledge in microscopy, scripting and data analysis is required.

** Please note that it is recommended to bring your own laptop to the workshop.

Any student / researcher dealing with scientific images is more than welcome to join this workshop.
