The NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Perception Systems Group
in the Mobility and Robotic Systems Section is seeking a postdoctoral
researcher in the area of machine learning, statistics, and computer
vision for a variety of technology development projects. The position
is for one year, renewable for two more years, with the possibility of
converting to full-time researcher position at JPL.

The research task aims to improve prediction models using machine
learning. In particular, the focus is on determining most significant
features and control parameters for earth-based resource production
model, which could also serve as a base for in-situ resource
utilization / production on moon, Mars, or another body in the solar
system. The ideal candidate has a balance of strong theoretical results
and good practical skills in machine learning. Background geology could
be beneficial. PhD students nearing the end of their program are welcome
to apply.

Candidates should provide a cover letter and CV by emailing to Dr. Yumi
Iwashita ( Yumi.Iwashita @ jpl.nasa.gov ) with cc to Corey Mack
( corey.a.mack @ jpl.nasa.gov ).
