ACCV 2020 - Call for Tutorial Proposals
IMPORTANT DATES
- Submission Deadline: September 1, 2020.
- Notification by: September 8, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ACCV2020 will be held as a completely
online conference on the planned dates, Nov 30th to Dec 4th, 2020. The
organizing committee is committed to taking this opportunity to make
ACCV2020 a widely visible open conference. Your contributions and
participation will be key to its success!
We solicit proposals for tutorials to be held together with the 2020
Asian Conference on Computer Vision (ACCV 2020). The tutorials will
take place on December 3rd and 4th after the main conference. ACCV
tutorials aim to provide a comprehensive overview of specific topics
in computer vision. The topic should be of sufficient relevance with
respect to the state-of-the-art and the course should be educational
rather than a cursory survey of techniques.
Regular courses will have a half-day duration (3-4 hours). We also
invite proposals for full-day courses (5-7 hours), provided that the
topic merits the additional time and can be anticipated to generate
sufficient interest from our community. Brief tutorials (1.5-2 hours)
are also welcome, which will have a seminar-like style and preferably
address hot, yet less consolidated, topics.
SUBMISSION
Proposals should be submitted by email to the chairs
accv2020-tutorialchairs @ googlegroups.com either in PDF format
(preferred) or plain-text by September 1, 2020. The tutorial
description must not exceed 3 A4 pages (all inclusive). Proposals
failing to comply with the guidelines will be desk rejected.
All proposals must include, in this order, the following information:
- Short course/tutorial title
- Proposers’ names, titles, affiliations and primary contact email
- Short bio for each organizer, including pointers to relevant
publications and any prior
tutorial/educational experience
- Preference for brief, half-day or full-day event and indicative
breakdown of day
(brief tutorials will be preferably accommodated on the post-conference day)
- Course description that includes topics that will be covered along
with a short outline
- Anticipated target audience (introductory, intermediate, advanced)
as well as the expected number of attendees
- Description of how this proposal relates to previous tutorials/short
courses appearing at ACCV and CVPR/ICCV/ECCV in the previous three
years.
- Planned materials (if any) to be distributed to attendees
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
After acceptance, tutorials will be required to prepare their
websites, separate from the ACCV 2020 webpage. Accepted tutorials
should provide their program material using a conference googles-sheet
for producing program/app information. All the tutorials should use
slideslive for the presentation, the related material must be uploaded
by October 31, 2020.
