I am looking for enthusiastic PhD and Postdoc applicants for 3 open
positions. The PhD positions are for 4 years and the postdoc is for 3
years.

 *      Application deadline: **Wednesday July 12**
 *      Project Start: January 2024. The successful applicants start
   then or soon after.


The positions are part of a new ERC Consolidator Grant project (NEON)
on developing machine perception systems that can estimate
intentions. The project will focus on estimating social intentions in
in-the-wild in face-to-face social settings using privacy preserving
approaches. Particular emphasis will be placed on multi-modal
nonverbal behaviour analysis although their relation to verbal
behaviour will also be relevant.

The project team to solve challenges related to developing systems to
automaticaly infer

 *      social context (e.g. involvement, attention, etc)
 *      multiple perceived intentions with corresponding plausible
   explanations.

All positions aim to balance a mixture of multi-modal machine learning
with interdisciplinary components which may, through collaboration
with social science collaborators on the project, also lead to
contributions for social science.
