ヒューマンコミュニケーション特集号編集委員会

情報通信技術（ICT）の進歩によって私たちの生活の利便性は向上する一方で，生活の多様化・複雑化に伴いプラスの側面ばかりとは限りません．技術の進化は私たちの一人一人の生活を変えるとともに，他者や生活環境との関わり方をも変えていきつつあります．このような状況のもと人が技術・社会・環境と相互に豊かに関わるためのコミュニケーションの研究を横断的に議論する必要性から， 
ヒューマンコミュニケーショングループ（HCG）では，平成16年から隔年で，平成25年からは毎年特集号を発行してきました．独自の論文誌を有していないヒューマンコミュニケーショングループ（HCG）の会員にとって，「ヒューマンコミュニケーション」特集号は貴重な情報提供の場となってきました．
さて，次回の「ヒューマンコミュニケーション」特集号は，英文論文誌 IEICE Transactions 
on Information and 
Systemsで企画いたします．英文論文誌Dはオープンアクセスジャーナル化されており，みなさまの日頃の研究成果を国際的に広く発信する絶好の機会となります． 

１．対象分野

２．論文の執筆と取扱い
- 通常の英文論文と同一とします．
- 
ページ数は，原則として，論文の場合は刷り上がり8ページ，レターの場合は刷り上がり2ページを標準とします．初期投稿時のレターの最大ページ数は4ページです．標準ページ数を超えると，掲載料が急に高くなりますので御注意下さい．詳細はInformation

- 査読後の再提出期間(通常は60日)を短縮する場合があります．

３．投稿方法
- 
Webによる電子投稿のみ受け付けます．https://review.ieice.org/regist/regist_baseinfo_e.aspx 
から登録・投稿して下さい．
- 採録決定後ではなく初期投稿時に，編集可能な論文本体（TeX/Word），図，著者の写真, 
biography も提出する必要があります．
- 登録時には必ず“Journal/Section”の項で[Special-HC] 
ヒューマンコミュニケーションを選択して下さい．[Regular-ED]を選択しないようにご注意下さい．
- 投稿の際に，“Copyright Transfer and Page Charge 
Agreement”に承諾して頂きます．

Call for Papers

IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems ―Special Section on Human 
Communication―

The IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems announces that it will 
publish a special section entitled “Special Section on Human 
Communication” in March 2024.

Human Communication Studies focus on the role played by Information and 
Communication Technologies (ICTs) in human communication processes. It 
is committed to improving the theory and methodology concerning the 
adoption, use, applications, effects, and the psychological, social, and 
policy implications of ICTs. Areas of research include computer-mediated 
communication, new media, social media, augmented and virtual reality, 
assistive technology, technology studies, big data, crowdsourcing, 
privacy, digital news, crisis, and other technologically mediated social 
interaction and networking at all levels of analysis (interpersonal, 
interpersonal, group, organizational, national, and international). The 
objective of this special section is to publish and overview recent 
progress in the interdisciplinary area of human communication. We call 
for papers that make an innovative and original contribution to our 
understanding of ICTs, with a focus on the technology itself within the 
context of human communication. But the topics are not limited to this 
domain. The related interests are highly welcomed. All submitted papers 
are subjected to the same review processes as those papers accepted for 
publication in the regular issues.

1. Scope
This special section aims at timely dissemination of research in these 
areas. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
- Human communication sciences
- Human information processing
- Media experience and virtual environment
- Well-being information technology
- Assistance for developmental disorder
- Human probe
- Cooking and eating media
- Informatics science on cognition and behaviors
- Verbal and nonverbal communication
- Attractiveness computing
- Comic Computing

2. Submission Instructions
- A manuscript should be prepared according to the guideline given in 
“The Information for Authors” 
(https://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/mokuji_iss.html). We encourage the 
authors to use the IEICE Style File 
(https://www.ieice.org/ftp/indexe.html). The preferred length of the 
manuscript is 8 pages for a PAPER and 2 pages for a LETTER with the 
format determined by the IEICE Style File.
- Submit the manuscript through the IEICE Web site 
(https://review.ieice.org/regist/regist_baseinfo_e.aspx). Choose 
“[Special-HC] Human Communication” in the menu of “Journal/Section” in 
the submission page. Do not choose “[Regular-ED] Information and 
Systems” or other special sections.
- Authors must agree to the “Copyright Transfer and Page Charge 
Agreement” via electronic submission.
- Submission deadline of the manuscript is May 9, 2023. (Firm deadline.)

5. Notice to the Authors
- If the paper is accepted, authors are requested to pay for the page 
charge.
- The standard period of 60 days between the notification (of 
conditional accept) and the second submission can be shortened according 
as the review schedule.
- If all authors are non-members, the article processing charge for 
non-members will be applied. We recommend that the authors take this 
opportunity to join the IEICE. For detailed information on the IEICE

- Open Access Publishing: All papers published in the IEICE Transactions 
on Information and Systems since January 2017 have been opened to all 
readers in the world through J-STAGE.

- Upon accepted for publication, all authors, including authors of 
invited papers, should pay the page charges covering partial cost of 
publication around November 2023. If payment is not completed by 15
