■ シンポジウムの概要

画像の認識・理解シンポジウム（MIRU）は、画像の認識・理解の技術に関する国内最大規模の会議です。今年で27回目の開催を迎えるMIRU2024は、熊本を会場として、以下の観点から参加者・発表者・コミュニティにとって有益な場を提供いたします。
１。発表者にとって、多くの人に自分の研究を知ってもらい、有益なフィードバックを得られる場
２。参加者にとって、分野を総覧でき、トレンドや新技術を学ぶとともに人と知り合える場
３。コミュニティにとって、日本発の挑戦的・萌芽的研究を大きく育て、国際舞台への挑戦を促す場

MIRU2023からの主な変更点を以下にまとめます。
・会議の開催形態について、MIRU2024では現地（オンサイト）開催を原則とします。
・全ての口頭発表を聴講できるよう、シングルセッションを基本とします。
・口頭発表は「研究内容を全参加者へ伝えるプロモーションの機会」、インタラクティブ発表は「参加者同士の議論・交流の機会」という考え方の下、全ての投稿論文・招待講演について、質疑応答はインタラクティブセッションで行います。
・口頭発表の機会を最大限確保するため、口頭発表セッションにおけるロング・ショート発表の区分は廃止します。
・直近のトップカンファレンス・トップジャーナルに採択された論文の著者の推薦を受け付けることにしました（自薦可）。

◎ 開催・発表形態：
現地（オンサイト）開催を原則とします。
＜削除予定＞参加者はオンサイト（現地）に加え、口頭発表や特別講演など
一部をオンラインでも聴講いただける予定です。

◎ 口頭発表候補論文：
MIRU2024もMIRU2023と同様に、口頭発表候補論文の論文評価をシングルブラインドで行います。

6月24日（金）：カメラレディ原稿・サムネイル画像（口頭発表候補論文・一般論文・デモ発表）提出、招待講演推薦 締切

■ Outline of Symposium

The Meeting on Image Recognition and Understanding (short MIRU) is the
largest Japanese annual symposium on image recognition and
understanding. This year, the 27th annual meeting of MIRU will take
place in Kumamoto. The symposium gives presenters, participants, and
us as a community, various perks:
1. As a presenter, you can highlight your research to many people and
receive valuable feedback.
2. As a participant, you can learn about the field as a whole, study
the newest research directions, and socialize with top domestic
researchers.
3. As a community, we have a platform for nurturing and promoting
Japanese cutting-edge research and make it ready for the international
stage.

Since MIRU 2023, there have been a couple of major changes:
- The symposium will be held on-site (in-person).
- All oral presentations are in single-track sessions.
- Oral presentations are an opportunity to convey a research idea to
all symposium participants. Poster presentations are an opportunity
for discussion and exchange among participants. Following, the Q&A for
all submitted papers and invited talks will be held in the interactive
session through poster presentations.
- To maximize the number of possible oral presentations, there is no
distinction between long and short presentations.
- You can now recommend your own top-conference and top-journal
publications to be considered as an invited talk.

The event will fully take place in-person (on-site).

■ Call for Papers

◎ Oral Presentation Track：
In MIRU2024, same as in MIRU2023, we do a single-blinded paper
evaluation for all oral presentation track papers. Please refer to the
submission schedule as shown below. More details can be found on our
website. We look forward to many submissions!
