講演タイトル：Authentification and Verification –
Applying Pattern Recognition for Digital Forensics

講演概要：
Modern computer technology reveals many lacks and inconsistencies
opening up opportunities for persons with criminal energy to cheat. i.e.
modifying data, changing identities, or generating faked certificates.
Digital forensics is an important research field for which pattern
recognition plays a prominent role to provide preventive and analytical
means for identifying suspected or faked data. In this talk I like to
discuss two major fields that cause big financial damages to
individuals, institutions, and society and therefore are of high
interest (not only) to German industry. In particular, I will try to
give answers on the questions: How can false or intentionally
camouflaged identities be disclosed employing fault-tolerant search and
howcanmanipulateddocumentsbediscovered by using image-based features?
