1st Workshop on Visual Recognition and Retrieval for Mixed and Augmented
Reality as part of ISMAR 2015.
Fukuoka, Japan, October 3rd, 2015.

Augmented Reality has proven an important testbed for advanced Computer
Vision methods and this has been the case for topics like real-time
visual mapping. However in order to take AR to the next level, it is
essential to consider methods that allow the automated detection of
objects, materials, shapes and in general, go beyond traditional
spatial-only techniques. Of interest are methods that include
large-scale object recognition to distinguish and locate objects or
materials and the detection of activities or user's alertness
monitoring. This workshop offers an opportunity to researchers in
Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition to consider applications for
Augmented Reality.

We invite original submissions that present novel methods, ideas, and
applications for mixed and augmented reality particularly with focus on
visual recognition and retrieval.

Topics include:

- Object recognition/detection for AR/MR systems
- Vision-based retrieval for AR/MR systems

We have two formats for paper submission:

Long papers: 6-8 pages including references, peer-reviewed, anonymized.
Accepted submissions will be published in the IEEE Xplore digital library.

Short papers: no more than 4 pages including references, peer-reviewed,
anonymized. Accepted submissions will not be published but included in
the supplemental material folder of the ISMAR2015 USB memory stick.

Submission due: July 03, 2015 (check above site for latest info)
Notification: July 31, 2015
Camera-ready for long papers: August 10, 2015
Workshop date: October 3, 2015
