PhD position in responsible ML for sleep-related breathing disorders
at the University of Oslo

We have one open PhD position in an interdisciplinary research project
that investigates the opportunities and challenges of using wearables
and machine learning (ML) to support diagnosis and longitudinal
studies related to sleep-related respiratory disorders. One core
challenge for this position will be the development of ML solutions
that are explainable to all stakeholders, i.e., patients, physicians,
medical researchers, policy makers, and ML developers.

The position is fully funded (NOK 491 200 – 534 400 per annum
depending on qualifications) for three years with the possibility to
apply for a fourth year for teaching duties. The application deadline
is May 19th.

We require the successful candidate to have a Master in Computer
Science (or equivalent) and a minimum average grade in the Bachelor of
C and in the Master of B. Furthermore, we require experience in at
least two of the following areas: ML for time-series data, application
of ML in the medical domain, interpretable ML or explainable AI,
advanced data management solutions (data warehouse solutions)
