CALL FOR WORK IN PROGRESS / HANDS-ON DEMO / DESIGN SHOWCASE SUBMISSIONS
We encourage researchers and practitioners to submit to thea
Work-in-Progress, Hands-on Demo, and Design Showcase categories.
Design Showcase, a newly established category, calls for diverse
activities on the overlapping interface of design and haptics, such as
products, services, entertainment, education, welfare, and art. The
authors of these categories will retain the copyrights, and materials
will not be archived in IEEEXplore. The deadline to submit to the
Work-in-Progress, Hands-on Demo, and Design Showcase categories is
April 19, 2019 (11:59 pm PDT). For more details, please check
https://www.worldhaptics2019.org/submissioncategories/.

-Work-in-Progress http://www.worldhaptics2019.org/wip/
Work-in-Progress papers enable authors to share late-breaking results
with the research community. The emphasis of WIP papers is on the
novelty of the work, not completeness. Authors of accepted WIP papers
will present their work during a poster session. Each WIP submission
includes:
Two-page paper abstract
Abstract (maximum 200 words)
Representative image
Video (optional, up to 30 seconds)

-Hands-on Demo http://www.worldhaptics2019.org/demos/
Hand-on Demos are an excellent way to share your work with the haptics
community. Each hands-on demo submission should include:
Abstract (maximum 200 words)
Video (up to 2 minutes)
Representative image
Floor plan of your station

-Design showcase http://www.worldhaptics2019.org/designshowcase/

products, services, entertainment, education, welfare, and art
Accepted design submissions will be presented in a museum-like
exhibition style in WHC 2019 venue. Submissions materials include:

VENUE & SOCIAL PROGRAMS
IEEE WHC 2019 will be held at the Sola City Conference Center in
Ochanomizu. Due to its proximity to Tokyo Station, Ueno, Suidobashi,
and Akihabara, it is also a convenient base for exploring the wider
area. Tokyo is a historic city that breathes with four hundred years
of tradition, while still being able to continually change and embrace
the future. The Kanda Myojin Shrine and the Mausoleum of Confucius at
Yushima are within walking distance of the venue. In addition, it
takes only 15 minutes to visit the Sensoji Temple with its Thunder
Gate. If you visit Akihabara, a fully-charged electric town sparking
original culture, you can find the cultural home to the diehard fans,
the "otaku", of gaming, manga, and anime. We hope to see you there!
